Ada Augusta Wolfe (1878-1945) Ada Wolfe was a Minnesota artist and educator. Born in Oakland, California on May 7, 1878, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of eleven. As a teenager she studied at the Minneapolis School of Art and later traveled to New York City to study at the Art Students League. One of her instructors was William Merritt Chase. Ada Wolfe's style of painting reflected an influence of Cezanne, and bolder colors than most of her contemporaries. In addition to painting, Wolfe spent several years teaching Fine Arts in the Minnepolis Public Schools. She died on October 4, 1945.
