Philip Little (1857-1942) Philip Little's work mainly reflects the New England Coast, where he studied and spent most of his life. Little was born in Massachusetts on September 6, 1857. He studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. After serving in the Navy in WWI, he resumed painting. He was a professional colleague of Minnesota artist Robert Kohler and made several trips to Minnesota. Little became Fine Arts Curator at the Essex Institute and Museum in Massachusetts.
