Louise Kelly (?-1948) Louise Kelly was born in Waukon, Iowa. Kelly studied at the Artist Institute of Chicago and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She traveled to and painted many areas of Europe and Africa. She later returned to the United States and married in Austin, Minnesota, where she briefly taught school. Louise and her husband, Edward, settled in Minneapolis, where Edward Kelly became a prominent attorney. In addition to winning prizes in national exhibitions, Louise Kelly was a participant in several artist's organizations, including the American Federation of the Arts and the National Association of Women Artists.
