Arthur R. Allie (1872-1953) Arthur Allie is best known for his work under the WPA and FAP (Federal Art Project) programs in the 30s and 40s depicting scenes of the Midwest. Allie was born in DePere, Wisconsin on May 20, 1872. Allie traveled to New York City to study painting, most notably with the artist Robert Henri. Arthur Allie moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and continued to paint around the Midwest. Allie died September 26, 1953.
